You can also ask for a job referral from someone you know that works at Remote Staff.

Step 2 : Wait for a call while we paper screen your resume.

A recruitment officer will screen your resume to check if you are qualified for the position you are applying for and for any other position we have open.

Ensure that your resume is detailed and concise.

If qualified, you will receive a call. The recruitment officer will inquire about your availability for a Skype interview.

Step 3 : Initial Skype Interview.

Before the interview starts, make sure that you have a reliable internet connection (at least 5 mbps), a working computer, headset, and webcam.

Test your Skype and headset. Have a glass of water beside you. Maybe a pen and paper for taking notes if necessary.

Be in your remote office 30 minutes before the scheduled interview. Perform a few deep breathing to relax. Handle the interview with  confidence.

Step 4 : Take the test.

Once you successfully pass the initial Skype interview, you will be asked to take a series of online tests. Bear in mind that the test comprises two parts: Standard/General test  and Skills test.

General Test

  • Reading Comprehension.

Your ability to quickly read and understand information will be assessed here. You’ll encounter passages of different writing styles, such as scientific, descriptive, narrative, procedural, laws, and business. There will be questions after each passage to check your understanding. You may be asked to figure out the main idea, to identify the correct summary, or to draw or infer the best conclusion among the choices. You may also compare and contrast two ideas or to recognize the correct sequence of information presented.

  • Office Grammar and Spelling.

Items in this portion are the most commonly used at work. This test checks if you have a good grasp of English grammar, sentence structure, spelling, word usage, and punctuation, which are essential for effective communication.

  • Analytical Skills.

Your ability to think critically and to solve problems is measured at this part. You need to identify the patterns and the logical rules in data to arrive at the correct solution.

There will be items wherein you will identify the next in a sequence, identify the difference of images presented, visualize written cues, and interpret a linear relation.

  • Following verbal instructions.

Not only your listening and comprehension skills but also your ability to follow verbal instructions are assessed here.

The second part of the test is composed of tests that will check your proficiency in specific technical skills related to the role you are applying for.

Some examples and roles below.

  • General Virtual Assistant: Test on Microsoft Word, Excel Sheet, Email Management,  Internet Research, and Calendar Management.
  • Graphic Designer: Test on Photoshop Illustrator and Indesign, and other Adobe Creative Apps.
  • Data Entry Staff: Typing test, Spelling tests, Listening tests.

Step 5 : Shortlisting.

If you pass the tests, Remote Staff will shortlist you and endorse your profile to a client.

The client will review your profile with the Remote Staff recruiters and will make a decision on whether to interview you or not.

Step 6 : Client Interview.

If the client wants to consider you for the role, Remote Staff will call you to organize a Skype interview with your potential client. The interview will happen while Remote Staff is listening to the conversation.

Go back to Step 3. Remember that every client is given at least 3 qualified candidates to choose from, so it’s very important to give your best at this stage.

Note that you cannot discuss your pay expectations to the client. You also cannot exchange contact details.

Step 7: Offer and Contract Signing.

If the client decides to hire you, you will be sent an offer and contract to review.

Prepare your IDs, Barangay Clearance, Proof of Address, and Internet Connection Bill as this will be required during the due diligence stage before the contract agreement is finalized.
